About this policy

This policy describes the use of personal information for the StaffPaper app.

Changes to our data use will be indicated by a change to this policy.

When this policy changes, we will update the last-updated date at the top of this document.

Summary

We collect analytics about the usage of our app, as well as crash information, using third-party services:

This helps us identify crashes and other errors in our app, and identify areas to improve within our app.

To do so, we provide device identifiers (IDFV/ASID) to these services. These services may also collect the device’s IP address. This information is not used to identify users outside of our app.

Purchases are made through the platform-provided in-app purchase API (Google Play for Android, and StoreKit for iOS), and payment is handled by the platform. Payment information is not disclosed to us.

Application data storage

Music written with our app is stored on-device by default.

This is privacy-friendly, in that data is local to the device, however this means that data is not backed up off-device unless a device backup service is used. We recommend using a backup service, such as the device backups provided by iOS and Android platforms.

If you export PDFs using the paid version of our iOS app, we attempt to store PDFs to iCloud. This is a best-effort upload, and will fail when offline, if the device is not logged in to iCloud, or if iCloud is unavailable.

In forthcoming versions of StaffPaper, users will have the ability to save documents to iCloud Drive folders on iOS or cloud document providers (eg. Google Drive or Dropbox) so that documents can be shared across devices.
